Lock & Key

Luster 03:20
The projector's on fire This image is burning out And you asked me to stay Stay for a while, stay for the night I'm in too deep, losing my body, losing my sleep And for what it's worth, a luster in the wind. Feel alive again Set me up with the golden standard It was more like beauty to me And I'm on repeat like a broken record Writing you into everything I'm in too deep, losing my body, losing my sleep And for what it's worth, a luster in the wind. Feel alive again.

Open Hand 04:31
As you take my hand, the tightness in my chest A bittersweet distraction It was the best I ever had, still feel it in my mind Slip inside the moment (Don't get no big ideas. It's never what stays. It's never what happens.) It was the best I ever had, still feel it in my mind Slip inside that moment And I feel you in my dreams I still see your eyes seeing me for the first time It was the first time I wanted more

If I told you you had it all in your hands Would you leave it out of sight, like the rest of us Because the crime here is I know how to let it go Oh the crime here is it's always faster than the fall We were never good at lingering On the things we thought we should And I was never the safest bet Well you love that part, you said If I told you you hold it all in your chest Would you let it out of sight, like all the rest? Because the crime here is I know how to let it go For my sake, it moves slower when you do not know We were never good at lingering On the things they thought we should And I was never the safest bet But you loved that part We were never good at lingering On the things they swore we should And I was never the safest bet Well you loved that part, you said. We both knew it when time stood still That this was more than a cheap thrill

Funeral 04:00
Never would I ever see it coming Running in the dead of night My lungs are working overtime Nothing like the first one, nothing like the last Every minute given is a day that hasn't passed So when I die play this song at my funeral For the ones I care for more than enough Because where we live, you know we'd only take all the risk For what we want in, for what we love Never would I ever bring out the worst Running toward the dead of night My heart is working overtime Nothing like the first one, nothing like the last And every minute given is a day that hasn't passed So when I die play this song at my funeral For the ones I care for more than enough Because where we live, you know we'd only take all the risk For what we want in, for what we love

about

The follow up to Twin Oak's sophomore 'See You When I See You' and the band's third EP, 'Lock & Key' is a return to a quiet and intimate headspace. Self-recorded by the band at Lauren's home and co-produced with Shaun Oppedisano (Friend Request, Mines Falls) during the Summer in Southern California while holed up through the 2020 pandemic, 'Lock & Key' is a lyrical shift from previous contemplations on isolation and focuses outwardly on interpersonal relationships and expectations.
